Doug Martin, President has served as the President of TransPar Group since 2016. He has dedicated TransPar to providing the highest quality of student transportation management and advisory services to schools, districts, state departments of education and private entities across the country. With operations in Hawaii, Rhode Island, and everywhere in between, Doug has focused the TransPar team on delivering innovative and implementable solutions that enhance equitable access to education for all. Prior to joining TransPar in 2011, Doug served as COO/CFO and Managing Partner of ReefPoint Group, LLC, a management consulting firm in Annapolis, Maryland. Doug is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served 10 years of active duty as a Naval Flight Officer supporting the Global War on Terrorism. He retired a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves in 2020. Doug earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
Kyle Martin, President Emeritus co-founded TransPar Group, Inc. in 1995 and continues to be involved in special projects. Before TransPar, Kyle worked in the transportation industry as President of Milepost and Mayflower, in addition to serving in several additional senior leadership positions. He is the former president of the National School Transportation Association and co-founded the American Transit Service Council. Kyle served in the United States Navy as a Naval aviator including serving as an instructor at the Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN). He holds a bachelor’s degree from the US Naval Academy, a Master of Science degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University.
Micah Brassfield, Vice President of Operations is a former Senior Contract Administrator and Coordinator of Planning and Student Transportation who worked directly for school districts and as a school district consultant for over 15 years before joining TransPar. She oversaw combined operations of more than 450 buses, which collectively served over 75,000 students daily on regular and special education routes, as well as McKinney-Vento, special programs, and extracurricular trips. In her previous roles, she oversaw contracted student transportation services provided by both First Student and National Express (Durham School Services). Micah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and English Language Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas, and her Master of Business Administration degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Mike Brassfield, Director of Advisory Services has a career spanning more than three decades in student transportation. Mike began his transportation career as a bus driver, dispatcher, and payroll specialist in 1983, where he quickly earned subsequent leadership roles as an Operation Supervisor, General Manager, Assistant Director of Transportation, and finally in a variety of roles as a Director of Transportation beginning in 2004 and culminating in his most recent role as an Executive Director of Transportation for Pflugerville Independent School District. Over the course of his career, Mike also gained consulting experience with over a dozen school district transportation operations prior to joining the TransPar team and brings with him this broad perspective of a variety of operations. Mike’s expansive and dedicated career as a transportation professional affords him the knowledge and expertise to advise our school district partners in operational efficiency, strategic planning, safety, staffing, and a myriad of other challenges transportation operations are facing across the country.
Patrick Kneib, Director of Client Services has over 10 cumulative years of experience with TransPar Group in roles spanning from Director of Transportation to Regional Manager, Project Manager, and Consultant, to his current role as Director of Client Services. In his current role, Patrick oversees TransPar’s business development efforts and interfaces with clients to ensure TransPar is delivering optimum levels of customer service. Patrick’s extensive background in this variety of roles grants him a wealth of knowledge regarding every aspect of a transportation operation. Patrick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management form Boston College and his Master of Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dan Walch, Director of Client Services directly leads, supports, and manages TransPar’s management contracts in Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. In this role, he conducts internal audits of the locations he oversees and supports his team in developing strategic plans to enhance operational success long term. Prior to accepting his current role, Dan worked for TransPar as a Director and Operations Manager, managing the Pflugerville Independent School District transportation department in Pflugerville, Texas. This experience gives Dan a direct perspective of the inner workings of school transportation and an enhanced understanding of many challenges faced by school transportation leaders as well as their solutions. Before working for TransPar, Dan worked for Seven Eleven as a Regional Implementation Leader and Field Consultant following a career with Target Corporation as a Regional Operations Food Lead. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
